From Gloucester: Turn off the A48 after Blakeney, signed Viney Hill and Yorkley. Continue to Yorkley, pass the Select & Save store on your left and take the next left immediately before the Bailey Inn pub. Pass the primary school and take the next right into Yorkley Wood Road.
From Chepstow:
Route for Cars & Campervans (not suitable for motor homes or if towing a caravan or trailer) At the roundabout on the outskirts of Lydney take the first exit, into the town centre. Continue past Tesco’s and down the hill to the bottom. Pass a car wash centre on the right and the Factory Shop on the left. Take the next left into Albert Street. Keep on this road until you come into Yorkley. Turn left at the start of the 30mph speed limit into Yorkley Wood Road.
Route for Caravans & Motorhomes. At the roundabout on the outskirts of Lydney take the second exit, staying on the A48. Follow this as it bypasses Lydney ignoring the sign at the far side of Lydney signed for Lydney town centre and Yorkley. Continue on the A48 towards Gloucester. After approximately another 1.5 miles turn left at Nibley Crossroads, just over the brow of a hill, signed Viney Hill and Yorkley. Follow directions from Gloucester direction, given above .
Both Directions:
CONTINUE along Yorkley Wood Road until you come to a sharp right bend. Our driveway is straight ahead of you on the bend. Go along our driveway turning in through the gate on the right immediately BEFORE the cattle grid - DO NOT DRIVE OVER THE CATTLE GRID.
Deanwood Caravan and Campsite is quietly situated right beside the Forest of Dean, with direct access into the Forest with its miles and miles of footpaths and cycle paths, and where nature abounds.
Yet our campsite is only half a mile from the village pub and shops in Yorkley, and 3 miles from the town of Lydney which has supermarkets, takeaways, sports facilities, parks and the historic harbour.
All the attractions in the Forest of Dean are within 20 minutes driving time, as is the Wye Valley.
We take a great pride in keeping our facilities and grounds spotless. You will find the free shower and toilet blocks are modern and heated, there are 3 wash-up sinks with plenty of free hot water, and also a freezer for icepacks, a washing machine and a tumble dryer.
The views from the site are, as one of our visitors described them 'to die for', and the sunsets have to be seen to be believed.
There is a Chemical Disposal point on site and a Grey Water driveover discharge point.
Dogs and their well behaved owners are welcome! Dogs have their own fenced exercise field where they can run to their hearts' content - as well as all the Forest waiting to be sniffed out.
Our site is open from the weekend before Easter to the end of October, although group bookings of 5 or more pitches can stay outside that period by special arrangement.
We also have a barn in which function rooms can be hired, and we offer indoor storage over the winter months.
