Welcome to Dropped Anchor Sea View Caravan, camping and glamping site. Set in an area of outstanding natural beauty come and experience peace and tranquillity with outstanding views of the south Cornwall coast. A simple and uncomplicated site ideal for those looking for relaxation and stunning scenery, the only sounds to break the peace and quiet is the cows or the tractor from our neighbouring farm. Cornwall has some amazing attractions many of which are right on our door step, Lands End, St Ives, St Michaels Mount, The Lizard, Many beautiful beaches, Coastal path, Harbour Towns, Swimming, surfing, bird watching, sailing, fishing, rock climbing, animal and theme park attractions and much much more.
We can have up to 10 generous pitches for tents, caravans and moterhomes all of which have fabulous sea views 1 of these pitches has been allocated to Daisy our glamping bell tent she has a cosy double bed all made up for your arrival, 2 futon beds with bedding for kids to sleep or for you just to chill and relax on, small kitchen area with all you basic camping needs, a cool box, gas BBQ, picnic table and your own fire pit a bag of logs and wooden bench to sit and look out to sea whilst sipping your wine, beer or hot chocolate. Complementary Tea, coffee, sugar and milk up on your arrival. Daisy also shares all amenities, facilities and recreational area with the Campsite, around the site are various seating areas where you can sit and enjoy the peace, tranquillity and views. At the top end of the site there is a separate area with a lovely hot shower, and 2 toilets, a semi covered sink and drainer for washing dishes, a tub with rain water for washing of those sandy, salty wetsuits, recycling bins and a CDP point for the touring caravans. Cars can be parked next to all the pitches so long as the weather permits. The site is an open field where we are in process of planting, potting flowers and fruit bushes for all to enjoy.
We are an off grid site so No electricity, all lighting is solar or battery powered, therefore light pollution is a minimal so night skies can be truly breath-taking. Solar lights are around the site, but a torch would be advisable for those late night walks to the toilets.
All our pitches have either stone fire pits or a lovely old pig trough for a fire pit, we sell logs at £3.70 a bag and kindling at 50p it is such a lovely way to spend the evening relaxing in front of an open campfire with a large glass of wine or a hot chocolate looking up at the stars and across the sea to the twinkling boat lights and the flashing of the light house.
Our pet ducks can be seen wondering which lay the most beautiful free range eggs. Which can be purchased for £1.50 half dozen and to let you know they love garden peas...
Dogs are very welcome on our site with no extra charge but we do ask you to please clean up after them a doggy poop bin is near to the toilet area, please keep them on a lead at all times, Rinsey beach is a doggy beach but can be a difficult access but a very pleasant walk from the site and on to the coastal path, but a bonus of having free parking . Long rock beach near St Micheals mount is a great doggy beach, good access and £1 parking for the day, Porthleven and Loo Bar also have fabulous doggy beaches all year.

I stayed in Daisy Bell tent 17th -19th July 2017 for my daughters graduation. We had an amazing time, the views from the tent are breathtaking. The tent is equipped with everything you need to make your stay comfortable, this including a gas BBQ, fire pit, bench, picnic table, camping stove, kettle, kitchen utensils, tea, coffee, sugar and a cool box is supplied to keep the wine chilled. The shower facilities are excellent and are kept immaculate. The owners Debbie and Joe are amazing and nothing is too much trouble. We are booked again for September and really looking forward to it.

What a fantastic find Debbie & Joe are such lovely hosts so friendly & welcoming. The campsite is beautifully kept with outstanding views and you couldn't ask for cleaner facilities like a hotel room we will definitely be back. Thankyou for a brilliant stay 😀

We stayed at Dropped Anchor for three nights recently and absolutely loved it. The site is beautiful and quiet. Great facilities and wonderful, accomodating and helpful hosts. There is only one shower so sometimes there is a queue but they're lovely and clean. The location is ideal, close to a coastal walk and a short drive from Porthleven.

Just returned from 9 nights at the amazing Dropped Anchor for our little boys 3rd birthday and 1st camping trip. We all loved every minute. The field is beautifully kept with tubs of flowers around the edges and the pitches large (each pitch has a name!). We had a fire pit too which was great. The toilet and shower facilities are immaculate and felt more like home or a hotel than a campsite. Each cubicle had fresh flowers too! Debbie & Joe are the most lovely kind helpful people you could hope to meet. Our little boy loved running up the field to see them. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The ducks are lovely and the eggs were delicious! A little slice of paradise- we will be back!

This is the most breath-taking site, the sea views are outstanding and the picture is ever changing. The hosts have clearly worker very hard to get this site up and running and have done a fabulous job. The toilet and showers are amazing, for a site with no power this is like home from home. They are fabulous hosts who will go above and beyond to accommodate your needs and you must try the free range duck eggs from their lovely flock of ducks. We will be returning, it is close to the beautiful harbour town of Porthleven which has everything you need and a cock stride away from the wonderful beauty of Rinsey Cove Beach. We took our 2 dogs that were made very welcome and joined in the fun with the hosts 2 beautiful golden retrievers. I’d rate the site 20 out of 10.
