From Harrogate on the A59, take Meagill Lane signposted Stump Cross Caverns. At the end of Meagill Lane, turn right towards Greenhow. Follow this road until you reach the stone houses cross roads, turn left onto Reservoir Road. Drop down over the Reservoir bridge and up to the T junction and turn right. Continue for approximately 300 yards until you reach a crossroads with North Moor Road on the left and our farm on the right.
From Skipton on the A59, take North Moor Road, signposted West End. Follow the road to the end. On the crossroads our farm is straight in front of you.

The land around North Yorkshire's Breaks Fold Farm is so stunningly scenic that it's often used by directors from the small screen: Emmerdale, All Creatures and DCI Banks have both been filmed in this lush locality in the spectacular Washburn Valley within the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The area has also been awarded dark sky status for the outstanding night skies. The farm itself has also won environmental awards for its contribution to nature.
If you're coming to this stunning area for hikes, the farm is close to all levels of them in the Yorkshire Dales National Park; for old old structures, famed Yorkshire highlights like Fountains Abbey and Pateley Bridge are easily reached, and for towns and cities, pubs and shopping, Harrogate, Skipton, York, Ripon, Ilkley and Leeds are all well placed to get to from here: as friendly owner Richard says, there are absolutely loads of things to do within a 20-minute drive.
A quiet and family-run farm, Breaks Fold overlooks Thruscross Reservoir and has easy access to the cycling and fishing of the valley as well as more hikes around the woods and the water. The 3 dales trail can be picked nearby and the farm is within reach of 6 reservoirs all with fantastic walking and cycling routes. It's a simple but clean and well-maintained site, with toilets and free hot showers as well as the facilities for ice pack freezing and gadget charging.The site gives a real family feeling and the owners pride themselves on offering outstanding customer service.
The camp site consists of a 2 acre field split into a main field and electric area. Firepits are available to hire on arrival for an authentic camping experience. The campsite and electric pitches can host most units.
In a separate area there is a trio of adult only shepherds huts, with spectacular views of the reservoir and valley. These huts are perfect for adults looking for a quiet country escape, complete with optional spa hot tubs and bbq fire pits. Fully heated, with free wifi to enjoy a bit of farming history made for modern day glamping.

Recommended by the team nearby from the countless options on offer are Pateley Bridge, Grassington, Skipton, Ilkley, Ripon, Harrogate, Thirsk, York, Appletreewick, Burnsall, Timble and Fewston, along with the scenic walking and cycling starting straight from the site and the geocaching, horse riding and paragliding nearby. York is slightly further away, but still close enough to grab the park and ride and visit the Yorkshire capital for the day.
