Castlett is a small hamlet between the villages of Guiting Power and Kineton. Barton Lane is the only way through. Sign on Farm gate. Contact owner if required when near.
The Shepherd's Hut is situated in a quiet location on a small working farm, in your own private space with outside seating to take in the beautiful views. Perfect for couples to enjoy a relaxing/romantic stay.
It has a comfortable double bed, with storage space underneath for bags/cases, and there is a small chest of drawers and hooks for clothing. The kitchen area is equipped with a microwave, kettle, toaster and mini fridge, and there is a table and chairs to sit at. The bathroom has a toilet, sink, shower and heated towel rail, with an electric hot water system. A cosy log burner is available to keep you warm.
Bedding is provided, but please bring your own towels.
Internet is via the 4G network.
Things to do
The village of Guiting Power is just a 10 minute walk along a public footpath or by road, with 2 Country Pubs, a Post Office/Cafe and a Deli/Coffee shop.It is perfectly situated to explore the beautiful, honey coloured stone villages of the Cotswolds. Stow on the Wold, Bourton on the Water, Broadway and Winchcombe to name a few. The historic market town of Cirencester with its Roman origins and beautiful Parish Church, and Regency Cheltenham with its famous Racecourse, are both within a 30-40 minute drive away.
Local attractions include, The Cotswold Farm Park, Birdland, The Model Village, Broadway Tower and the home of Henry V111, Sudeley Castle.
National Trust properties are at Snowshill, Chastleton, Hidcote and Chedworth.
We are surrounded by beautiful walks including part of the Cotswold Way, and historic Woodlands, and Cycling opportunities around the villages. Wild swimming and watersports is available at the Cirencester Water Park, and outdoor seasonal swimming at the Sandford Park Lido in Cheltenham.
We are fortunate to have very little light pollution, so when clear, we enjoy beautiful starry sky's.
