Exit A12, J26 onto the A1124 signed towards Halstead.
After 4 miles enter Chappel village.
Turn right at the small village green (with red post box) then immediately turn right onto Vernons Rd.
We are 400 yards on the right.
One entrance is for the house only, the other is for the CL site
Welcome to Greenacres Farm
Our CL site is in the small village of Chappel which sits on the River Colne. Chappel is famous for its Victorian viaduct which is one of the largest brick built structures in England.
Matt and Jenny run the CL site. We love meeting new members and hearing about your travelling adventures. We have also listened to members’ feed-back relating to what would make their ultimate CL site. During 2015 we made some radical improvements to the site to make your stay with us more enjoyable.
Although we can’t guarantee sunny dry weather all year round, the two new hard-standings should help keep your feet nice and clean whatever the weather has in store.
During the winter months we ask motor home users to take advantage of these hard-standings to prevent any risk of getting stuck.
The CL field is level and drains nicely and we like to keep the grass short too.
We have splendid views from our CL over our own pastures and the surrounding countryside.
The Farm is not a working farm. There are no smelly muck heaps or noisy machinery operating to compromise your stay here. We do love our dogs and have a few of our own. We love to see members with their dogs, but do ask that dogs be kept on leads at all times unless being exercised in the designated Dog Exercise area.
There is an outside seating area and communal BBQ that you are very welcome to enjoy. We often have extended families making block bookings to celebrate important events. The site has plenty of room for such gatherings and we love to see families enjoying quality time on the farm.
We are motor home users, and understand that limited space can be a factor at times, especially whilst in the kitchen. As a result we have provided a vegetable preparation area, washing up area and a coin drop laundry for your convenience.
The village has a pub dating back to the 13th century as well as a post office and a general store all within a short walk away. There is a bus stop at the end of the road and also close by is a play area and playing fields.
Chappel and Wakes Colne is a fantastic area to explore on foot. With its undulating countryside including the River Colne, Chalkney Woods and parts of the Essex Way. We have maps for you to borrow with different distance walks to explore the surrounding areas.
