A lovely rural campsite a short walk from Bowes village centre and right on the Pennine Way. Well kept, very clean and tidy. Good value for money including hot water in shower and toilet block. Owner was pleasant and welcoming. Grass Pitches are immaculate. Rural setting enhanced by free ranging chickens and wild rabbits. Main A66 is very close by and rumble of trucks is noticeable however it's not intrusive, visually it's nonexistent. I look forward to returning to this treasure of a site.

1 night stay in mid- September. Lovely spacious site with gorgeous views, sparkling facilities, fabulous honesty box and an extremely friendly welcome to the site by the hosts. Don’t be put off by it’s proximity to the main road, it feels a mile away when you’re on site. Will certainly be back.

Booked for a week last year (2019) enjoyed it so much we stayed a 2nd week. The site is quiet and clean with great views, the owners are welcoming and very friendly. There is so much to do in the area and some great walks from the site. Will definitely be staying again.

Stayed for 4 nights with our 9 year old grandson and dog. We don't know which enjoyed it best. Plenty of good walks directly from the site most of which took in the river. A good big camping field and nice well maintained toilets and shower make this an ideal location to explore this area that is full of history and beautiful scenery We will visit again. Just returned from a weekend stay at this site and we will definitely be returning. There was ample space for the kids to play, they loved all the rabbits and birds. There was some lovely walks from the site, fabulous views, the facilities were nice and clean, shower was hot, and all at a great price, what more could you ask for?!

Had a fantastic stay over the Easter Bank Holidays. Really lovely site nice clean toilets and shower. Owners really helpful and information sheet provided was very useful. Excellent dog walks especially to the river as our dog loves to swim. Loads of open spaces for children to explore. Our son made some friends and went exploring rabbit holes in the adjoining fields. Nice walk into the village to the Ancient Unicorn pub which had a lovely menu (although we didn't eat there as weather so nice we had a BBQ every night). Will definitely be returning!
