Directions

Turn off the A30 at Stowford Cross, signposted Broadwoodwidger. Turn towards Broadwoodwidger but do not turn left to go to the village (your Sat Nav may tell you to take this left turn) but continue on this road for approx 5 miles past Roadford Lake until you get to a T junction with a renovated school on your left. Turn Left and then near immediate Turn Right. After approx 100 yards there is a bungalow on you left named 'Ivydene', Turn Left down the lane immediately after the bungalow. Follow this drive to the end where you will find Hole Farmhouse.
Set in a small dale betwixt the dramatic North & idyllic South Devon & Cornish Coast and within shouting distance of Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor is Hole Farm. An idea location on the Devon / Cornwall border to experience the beauty that surrounds us. It’s a serene setting for a glamping site and the shepherd's hut certainly capitalises on it.

Arrive to a plate of fresh scones, with clotted cream and jam, make yourselves a tea or coffee and relax before you unpack.
Our Shepherds hut has been specifically placed so that you are nestled is an area with new landscaping and the open pastures with views across the pond and beyond.
There is a summer house and decked area down by the pond for those who wish to stray a small distance away from the hut, with comfortable seating, fridge and garden games for those that may feel a little inclined. Otherwise, just chill with your G&T or glass of wine.
Inside, the hut is luxury not always found in glamping – it has a fitted, king-sized island bed, so no having to crawl across your partner to get in and out, a comfortable sofa and tray tables. There is a kitchen area with a small fridge with a freezer for the ice, 2 ring electric hob, toaster and small microwave oven, so everything you need to cook your heart-warming breakfast. There is no TV or DVD player, but there is internet for those who wish to keep in touch with others. The beautiful, spacious en-suite has a large shower with plenty of hot water, fluffy white towels and bath ropes for relaxing in after that shower.
The underfloor heating and wood burner will always make sure of a cosy feel in the hut on the chilly nights we sometimes experience.

The hut has private facilities, built in island bed (bedding & Linen provided), Sofa and Tray Tables, Equipped kitchen with Electric Hob, Small fridge, kettle, toaster & Microwave. Bathroom with large shower (towels provided), sink and toilet. Underfloor heating and wood burner (first briquette supplied more can be bought at an additional charge) Outside is a fire pit that doubles up as a BBQ and outside furniture to relax on.

There will always be a warm welcome on your arrival and we will assist you to get your things across to the Hut as parking is about 100 yards away. The Hut is situated across grass so appropriate shoes are recommended for the possible damp day.

A small well behaved dog is allowed at an additional cost. Please contact owner for further details.

Prices are the same throughout the season.

Shepherds Hut 'Florence' : £125 per night, minimum 2 night stay. All bedding & Towels included. Sleeping 2 persons in a king-sized bed

Things to do

We are approx. 20 miles from the North Coast, where you will find the coastal town of Bude with its shops and beautiful sandy beaches, Tintagel with its historic Post Office, Boscastle and its picturesque harbour, Port Isaac where Doc Martin and Fisherman’s Friends where filmed and then further down the coast is the beautiful harbour at Padstow.

To the south, the City of Plymouth is only 30 miles away but if the bustle of the City is too much for you, then going along the coast you have Portwinkle, Looe, Polperro, Fowey to name just a few fabulous places to visit.

For those feeling a bit more energetic Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor are only a few miles away. Walk amongst the ponies on Dartmoor, visit Lydford Gorge or climb up to Brentor. Stop and take refreshment at Jamaica Inn and learn the history of the building.

There is so much to see and do in Devon & Cornwall
