Here are some clues to help you along the way.... because our lane is unmarked and you might not believe your ears and eyes!: If you are driving from Barnstaple, once you get in to Stoke Rivers village you will pass a telephone box and a village hall, both will be on your left hand side. Keep driving uphill out of the village and then take the first turning/lane that you get to on your left (approx half a mile). As you turn down the lane you will see Lane End Farm on your right. Continue straight down the lane, follow the bend to the right and then take the left hand fork, signposted ‘Lower Birch’. Congratulations, you have found us!! Drive past the main farmhouse and barns on your right hand side, and park up by the black corrugated barn. The Hut at Lower Birch Farmhouse will be on your left. Happy holidays!!
The Hut at Lower Birch Farmhouse is situated in a tranquil valley in North Devon. Nestled between the rugged North Devon Coastline, the wilds of Exmoor, and the surfing beaches of Saunton, Woolacombe and Croyde. The Hut sits in a field, set within 10 acres of pasture land and gardens that it shares with the main farmhouse which dates back to the 16th century.

The Hut at Lower Birch Farmhouse is located within easy reach of the market towns of South Molton and Barnstaple for your daily essentials. Close to the seaside destinations of Illfracombe where you will find Damien Hirst's Verity, Lynton and Lynmouth with it's incredible Victorian funicular railway, Woolacombe and Croyde with their world class surfing beaches, and our favourite Saunton Sands for sand dune fun! You are also well placed for walking and cycling adventures on The Tarka Trail and South West Coast Path and of course hikes on Exmoor! Don't forget your walking boots! North Devon has a lot on offer! Devon has a lot of lovely pubs with food options, some recommendations close by, for your googling delight, are: The Black Venus - Challacombe (6 miles), The New Inn - Goodleigh (3.5 miles), The Jack Russell - Swimbridge (6 miles), The Pyne Arms - East Down (8 miles).
