Turn into the pub car park and the first gate you come to is Chippers Field.
Whether itís evening ambles and brunches down The Cobb harbour or rummaging for fossils somewhere in the sand, Chippers Field is well-situated for taking up activities on the seaside around Lyme Regis. Three miles from the ancient town, this quiet adults-only site has its own scenery for show, as the south-facing tree-lined terrace field is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with plenty of wildlife in the field.

On Raymondís Hill, youíll be just off the A35 and a few minutesí walk away from a bus stop, so getting about shouldnít be a problem. In fact, thereís the market village of Axminster five minutesí drive away (for walks along the river Axe perhaps, or a foodie-style trip out?)

Of course, Lyme Regis is 10 minutesí drive away tooÖ just the spot for pubs, restaurants and shops, strolls along The Cobb or putting in a plan of action for the Jurassic Coastís renowned fossil-hunting stretch between the town and the Golden Cap Estate.

When you donít feel like going very far at all, thereís a pub serving food just a few minutesí walk from the site or a local shop for all the basics next door to the pub for snack gathering (ready for local walks and cycling trails, perhaps?) You may have already seen it on the telly, but River Cottage (the same name for the TV show) is also half an hourís walk away and runs a cookery school or dining events.
No stag or hen parties no single sex groups.

We spent a quiet, relaxing few days at this delightful adult only site. Martin, the owner is very friendly and welcoming and he insures you have a great stay. LOCATION: Conveniently situated just off the A35 and close to the Jurassic Coast within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There is a frequent bus service which stops close by the site so you can visit the coast without any parking problems! The south facing field is tastefully terraced and bordered by trees giving privacy. There are several lovely walks from the site inc. a delightful tucked away cafe/ice cream parlour and woodland walks by the river down to Lyme Regis. WILDLIFE: The field is a haven for wildlife with rabbits and squirrels running round the bottom end and along the old Devon hedge-banks. If you are fortunate, you might see the local fox or deer when they visit. We were delighted to see a Buzzard slowly circling above the field having spotted its dinner. During our evening relaxation round the fire pit, we saw and heard several bats including Noctule, Serotine, Brown Long-eared, Common Pipistrelle and at least one Myotis species. Tawny owls are resident and their haunting calls are a comfort at night. Little owl and Barn owl calls were also heard. At this time of year (September) the wild flowers are sparse but Enchanted Nightshade is prolific in the surrounding borders.

Beautiful and relaxing long weekend at Chippers field. Being a transporter van itís often hard to find a campsite willing to let us pitch up, however Martin was great. He was extremely welcoming and the views were phenomenal. Night time looking into the sky above we could see the stars glistening whilst being mesmerised by the wonderful sounds of wild bunnies, birds and deer. Itís so close to Lyme Regis and Axminister, everything we needed was local and easy to find! Lovely location for an adults only break! This is going to become a very popular site in no time! We will be returning!
