Set within Trelay Cohousing Community, Trelay Campsite is run by one of the resident family's. Trelay Cohousing Community consists of 22 adults and 9 children and aims to be sustainable and eco friendly. We cureently have solar panels on our barn roof to provide electric, and a ground source heat pump that provides the sites hot water and heating needs. we are hoping to be granted permission for a wind turbine sometime in the near future.
We have cows, sheep, pigs, chickens and ducks which keep us sustainable in meat and milk, and our own vegetable garden and fruit trees, where we get seasonal fruit and vegetables. We do ask that guests do not bother the animals. However, if you would like a farm tour, please enquire during your visit.
We aim to be as eco-friendly as possible. Our brand new toilet and shower block is powered by our solar panels, and we have a rain water harvester for toilet flushing. Laundry facilities available at an additional cost.
We encourage guests to recycle as much as possible, and reduce carbon footprint by bringing only one car. Extra charge for additional cars.
We do not allow cars in to the camping field, however, the car park is approximately 100 metres away, and we provide wagons to transport items between pitches and cars.
We provide electric points for phone charging, hair dryer, shaving etc as well as an on-site fridge for guests to use and a freezer full of ice packs and reusable ice cubes. We just ask that you return the ice packs and ice cubes before you leave.
